Purification and Enlightenment
These sessions revolve around the Sundays of Lent, and include Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. They have a more intense retreat-like approach than the Catechumenate period sessions. The Scrutiny preparation sessions use the Lectionary Sunday readings from Year C for the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Sundays of Lent.
For Young Apprentices users, Purification and Enlightenment sessions are provided for the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Sundays of Lent, using Cycle A readings. Preparation sessions for the Scrutinies are also provided for each of these Sundays. Please use the Young Apprentices Catechumenate Sessions for the First and Second Sundays of Lent, and for Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. Young Apprentices materials are identified with the letters YA. In addition, Young Apprentices users may find the additional resource articles to be of help.
