Inquiry (Evangelization and Precatechumenate)

The time of Inquiry is properly called the Period of Evangelization and Precatechumenate. The text of the official Order of Christian Initiation describes this as a time "for inquiry and introduction to Gospel values, an opportunity for the beginnings of faith" (OCIA, Order of Christian Initiation of Adults).

Apprentices in Faith and Young Apprentices offer catechists and participants Gospel-based materials that help the inquirer explore key themes in the life of the Church. The Period of Inquiry, also known as Evangelization and Precatechumenate, offers inquirers an initial encounter with Gospel values and the beginnings of faith, as outlined in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. Apprentices in Faith and Young Apprentices provide Gospel centered materials to help participants and catechists explore foundational themes of the Church’s life, with resources clearly organized and available for download.
